Car rental info
While Sitges is a cool and bustling beach town and trains run easily and regularly to Barcelona and Tarragona, full appreciation of the area will require a car.
Auto Europe and Europcar have been our favorite car rental companies on our travels to Europe (usually offering the best deals).
Most major American car rental companies also have outposts in the Barcelona airport.
Cars can also be rented in Sitges, but availability will be less.
Consider renting a car (and sharing with friends) when you book your flight and room.
Travel by Train
There are three main train stations in Barcelona that offer service that runs to Sitges: Estacio de França, Passeig de Gracia and Estacio Sants.
The R2Sud train travels from Franca to Passeig de Gracia to Sants and then on to Sitges. The final destination of the train is either Vilanova i la Geltru or St. Vincenç de Calders - these are the names that you should be searching for on departure boards and on the front of the train rather than Sitges.
Train tickets can be purchased either from automated machines or from ticket desks - you will normally find that it is quicker to use the machines.
Trains from Barcelona to Sitges run approximately every twenty minutes, starting at 05:30 and finishing at 23:51(from Estacio de França). The journey lasts 46 minutes from Estacio de França, 37 minutes from Passeig de Gracia and 30 minutes from Estacio Sants. Train times are subject to change - it is therefore best to check the Official Renfe website for more details - this is its branch for local trains, known as Cercanias.

For most guests the easiest place to stay will be in Sitges. Not only are there many hotels to choose from in the city, there are a number of houses/villas to rent. Airbnb and Home Away are two good sites to start looking for a villa.
For those of you that prefer staying in a hotel by the beach, we recommend that you stay at The Calipolis Hotel in Sitges.
This will also serve as the location for pickup and drop-off shuttle service on the day of our wedding.
